Interview

Description

Interview with Christopher Epling, cartoonist, illustrator and author.

Interview with Craig Crowder, UK PhD student and comic enthusiast.

Top Five Elements

Crowder-Nostalgia:gives anecdote of Grandmother and early exposure to comics. C&H comes from a nostalgic medium-newspaper comics.
  1. Crowder-Comics do multiple, continous narratives that contradict each other-different points of narration over temporal differences-sometimes implied sometimes explicit. ~1:50
  2. Crowder-Convergence:Not changing narrative, but the way we consume media. Single authorship is no more, but now more of a shared experience. Cultural process.
  3. Epling-How single authors (originators) come up with their content. Are influenced culturally and experientially. Gives anecdote of war inspiration.
  4. Epling-Reasons to continue creating:notoriety-we're from the same area orginally. There is no "famous" comic artist, or well-known illustrator from E KY.
