Hepburn Commentary Rough Draft

Description

At the begining of this project, my goal was to create an extensive comparison between Audrey Hepburn and the Disney character, Snow White. I thought to make this comparison because of how they both symbolized innocence and purity.
Throughout my research, I was able to find tons of books and articles about how Audrey was a good role model. I found books discussing how a person should be more like Audrey rather than the role models today, like Paris Hilton, and articles discussing her upbringing. There were numerous pictures of her with animals that made it easy to link her to Snow White. Audrey had a pet deer named Pippin, much like how Snow White was a friend to all the creatures of the forest.
All of this research helped tie these two people together, but then it got me thinking, what was the main thing that tied them together? The answer is innocence an purity.
I began to think about how Audrey Hepburn is remembered as. She is innocent and pure and never seemed to do any wrong. This description worked for Snow White because she was a fictional character, but Audrey is human, she is not perfect. I then began exploring photos in which she is seen as less than perfect and begin to try and understand why while we remember all of the good things she has done, we always seem to forget the bad. This archive is the humanization of Audrey Hepburn. She is not an icon or a role model, she is human
