"Hand-colored Calvin & Hobbes artwork by cartoonist Bill Watterson sold for $203,150, a record for auctioned newspaper comic strip art, previously held by a Peanuts original that sold for $113,530 in 2007. From Nov. 19, 1986, it is the first published strip of the comic known to come to auction. Watterson's last daily syndicated strip was published in 1995. (Heritage Auctions)"
